Welcome to the Climate Change Writers website (the "Site"). The Site is owned and operated by TeraShift Sustainability Initiative, RC8960199, of 5 Benin Street, FCDA Quarters, Bwari, Abuja, Nigeria ("we", "us" or "our"). Climate Change Writers is an initiative of TeraShift and is not a separate legal entity.

By accessing or using the Site you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy (together, the "Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Eligibility

The Site is intended for use by individuals who are at least 18 years old. By using the Site you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a contract.

2. Membership and submissions

Membership is free and open to anyone. There is no application, no fee and no minimum experience. You will be asked to confirm your email address before the account can be used.

Writing for Climate Change Writers is not paid. It is a voluntary commitment. No fee, royalty or other payment is due to you for anything published here, and none is due from you.

You are under no obligation to submit anything, at any frequency.

3. Your work

You keep the copyright in everything you write. Submitting a piece grants us a non exclusive, irrevocable licence to publish it on the Site and to keep it in the archive, and to share it through our own channels.

You may republish your own work anywhere else, at any time, without asking us.

Anyone else may republish work from the Site provided they credit the writer by name, link back to the piece here, and do not edit it in a way that changes its meaning.

You confirm that anything you submit is your own work, that its facts are checked, and that you hold the rights to any image you upload. Plagiarism ends the relationship and the piece is removed.

4. Use of the Site

The Site and its content, including text, graphics, images and other material (the "Content"), are provided for information. The Content is not a substitute for professional advice.

You may not use the Site or the Content for any illegal or unauthorised purpose, or in a way that could damage, disable, overburden or impair the Site or interfere with anyone else's use of it.

You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, or to any account, system or network connected to it, by any means.

5. Editorial decisions

Every submission is read by a person and receives a written reason either way. We may decline a submission, ask for revisions, unpublish a piece, or close an account. Where we do, we record the reason and tell you what it is.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and the Content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, as to the operation of the Site or the information, content, materials or products included on it.

We do not warrant that the Site or the Content will be uninterrupted or error free, and we will not be liable for any interruptions or errors.

Published pieces are the work and the opinions of their writers. They are not statements by TeraShift Sustainability Initiative.

7. Limitation of liability

We will not be liable for any damages of any kind arising from use of the Site, including direct, indirect, incidental, punitive and consequential damages, so far as the law allows.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us and our officers, agents and employees harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, made by a third party arising out of your use of the Site, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of the rights of another party.

9. Governing law

These Terms and your use of the Site are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.

10. Dispute resolution

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be resolved through binding arbitration under the Nigerian Arbitration and Conciliation Act 2004. The arbitration will be conducted in the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms. Material changes are announced on the Site and notified to members by email before they take effect. Continued use of the Site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
