A network, not a newsroom
Most people who write for us are not journalists. They are researchers, students, farmers, teachers and campaigners with one story worth telling. 188 writers have published with us and 111 of them published exactly once.
That shape is deliberate. We exist to make a first piece possible, not to build a masthead of regulars.

A headline, a standfirst, and the work. Basic formatting is kept; anything else is removed when you save.

Every submission is read by a person and gets a written reason either way. Returned is not rejected.
