A network, not a newsroom
Most people who write for us are not journalists. They are researchers, students, farmers, teachers and campaigners with one story worth telling. 187 writers have published with us and 110 of them published exactly once.
That shape is deliberate. We exist to make a first piece possible, not to build a masthead of regulars.

A headline, a standfirst, and the work. Basic formatting is kept; anything else is removed when you save.

An editor reads it
A piece that fits is published. Where changes are needed, the writer hears back about them. Returned is not rejected.
