Every day, thousands more Nigerians relocate to Lagos, driven by the optimism and opportunity that consistently draw people to great cities. The prospects for newcomers may be deteriorating due to the city's inability to improve while it grows quickly.

The city struggles with the negative effects of air pollution, single-use plastic trash, and the buildup of solid garbage. It is also one of the top 21 largest cities in the world. Due to the city's density and these environmental problems, its residents often experience floods, respiratory conditions, and other health challenges.

With an estimated 30,000 lives lost annually because of pollution-related conditions, Lagos' many-sided causes of pollution have profound consequences. In 2020, air pollution caused over 30,000 premature deaths in Lagos, of which more than half were newborns under the age of one.

To properly control pollution and protect the environment for posterity, it is crucial to look at comprehensive solutions. We can significantly reduce pollution in Lagos by integrating individuals, businesses, and governments.

Individuals
