Tasneem Goga is a dedicated environmental researcher and graduate student of Geography and Environmental Science at the University of the Western Cape. Her Honours research, titled “A Devil in the Deep Water: An Analysis of the Contestations Surrounding Western Cape Seismic Surveys,” marked her early foray into the contentious dialogue between environmental justice and energy development in South Africa.
Tasneem’s passion for impactful storytelling found a meaningful outlet through her involvement with Climate Change Writers South Africa, where she joined the team as a researcher in early 2025. During her time with the initiative, she authored in-depth features addressing some of the country's most pressing climate concerns—from the ecological damage of fast fashion to the legal and ethical dilemmas of seismic surveys. Her articles combined rigorous research with a bold, persuasive voice—driving public dialogue and media visibility on these complex issues.
