Esther Nthenya Kitheka

Esther (Kitheka) Nthenya is a dynamic force at the intersection of education, empowerment, and environmental justice. With over five years of experience in learning and development across sectors, Esther now serves as the Learning & Development Manager at Climate Change Writers—where her passion for people and planet converge.

From instructional design to on-the-ground facilitation, she’s shaped inclusive training systems that inspire personal growth and collective responsibility. Her journey, rooted in a background in education from Kibabii University and certified training from USAID and Corporate Staffing Kenya, has been one of bold leadership and intentional impact.

Esther believes that the climate crisis is also a crisis of awareness—and that real change begins when people are equipped with the knowledge and tools to act. Through her work, she champions climate literacy, community dialogue, and youth-led climate advocacy.

With a firm belief that leadership means “having your team’s back,” Esther is nurturing a new generation of thinkers and doers, ready to rise for climate justice across Africa and beyond.
